I have been tracking this planning application on the website and have received an email to say that it will be included in the Public Planning Meeting on Tuesday 20th June at 2pm in the Town Hall. I am posting this, because this information is not available anywhere else on the council website. All are welcome to attend, and details can be found at when they become fully available.

I believe that it is no longer in the public interest to pursue this planning application. Today, Peter Haigh & Sons, Funeral Directors open their business at 99, Cross Hill, and I wish them all the best of luck for the future.

This means that this applicant, Mr. S. Price, is now only the ex-tenant of this property. If planning permission is granted for a micro pub at this propery, the only outcome will be the continued uncertainty, worry and misery of the residents of Cross Hill as the planning permission will remain with the building for the future, affecting our quality of life.

I respectfully request that the Planning Officer contacts the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board to ensure that they are fully consulted on this proposed change of use. I feel that this is important because two households living within ten metres of the proposed micropub have children.

The Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board has recognised concerns relating to children and licensed premises. They have issued a fact sheet which states that risks may include:

Children witnessing dangerous or inappropriate adult behaviour
Exposure to substance misuse/drug related paraphernalia
Lack of adult supervision
Underage drinking
Underage gambling
Sexual exploitation

I have already registered my objection to this planning application, but I would like to add two points:

1) According to the Sheffield UDP Map 3 for Chapel Green, this property is on a STRATEGIC ROAD. This is not mentioned in the Constraints for this Planning Application. I believe that it should be. I feel that this has an important bearing on the consideration, given the lack of parking provision for the site.

2) There is also a Building Control application for this development (16/02389/OTH), but it has been hidden on an old planning application for the same site, i.e. for Trade Grade Products at the same address.
